After your session is booked, you can either arrive for your first session with the intake paperwork completed (available for download below), or arrive 10 minutes early to fill out the forms.
Our welcome team will collect your paperwork, work out your fee and/or insurance with you, and review the counselor you will be seeing.
In your first session, your counselor will greet you, spend about 10-15 minutes reviewing your paperwork, and explain the process to you. You will get to know each other and explore the reasons you felt like counseling was a good thing for you! It will be what you need it to be. Toward the end of your first session, your counselor will check in with you and process how it felt to get started and what would help for next time. Then you and your counselor will talk about when you want to meet next and walk back up to the front desk to get your appointment set up for next time.
Turning Point is committed to keeping our clients on the schedule regularly at the intervals they desire. That can mean weekly, bi-weekly, once a month, or once every few months. Your counselor will help you decide on the best fit for you!
