“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Viktor Frankl

Though there are many items that contribute to growth and freedom, Andy Bautz loves that people have the ability to make choices every day. Early in college, Andy discovered a passion for working with addictions, thinking patterns, and people who are often stereotyped and depersonalized due to their criminal backgrounds. He later worked at a juvenile residential treatment facility, where he expanded his experience working with families and juveniles. After graduate school, Andy worked as an outpatient counselor, empowering people to discover their own unique gifts and flourish within them.

Andy believes in striving to be whole in all facets of life, and he encourages his clients to find biological, psychological, social, and spiritual health. He firmly believes that all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and he empowers those who meet him to realize their own worth and value.  Andy brings a creative/strategic/structural approach to working with clients, specializing in addictive issues, parenting/couple issues, adolescent adjustment, divorce recovery, and separation/individuation. Andy’s wife says he’s a “handful,” but his kids love “fun & playful DD.”

“One of the parts I love most about being a therapist is being able to walk alongside people as they make choices, learn, unlearn, grow, heal, and find freedom. It truly is an honor to form relationships, laugh, cry, be angry, and be creative as we explore health, healing, and hope together.”
