After completing his undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology in 2002, Jonathan Homes worked in inpatient treatment until he returned to Grace College in 2009 to complete his graduate degree in mental health counseling. Jonathan’s graduate degree allowed him to help people at a deeper level, and he has since worked in community mental health, school, and group private practice. He has a decade of experience providing counseling for children, adults, groups, couples, and families.

Jonathan believes humans are relational beings who need to feel connected to others. He takes an integrative approach to counseling, which allows him to creatively employ concepts and techniques that fit with unique personalities and learning styles. He is honest, empathetic, and respectful, and he strives to create a safe, encouraging environment for his clients.

Jonathan’s clinical expertise is in emotional regulation in children and adolescents, understanding and managing anxiety in children and adults, empowering parents and helping them discover parenting strategies that work for their children, and strengthening couples through communication and love languages.

“As a counselor, I see my role as a travel guide who comes alongside clients to provide information, resources, and tools that will help each person move towards self-identified goals. We all have a story, and I love to listen to where people have been and encourage and empower them to write their next chapter(s).”
