Want to know more about Kinsey?

What initially drew you to a social work career?

I was drawn to this career through the influence of social workers who supported me during pivotal times in my life.  Those experiences sparked a passion for helping others navigate challenges.  I view this work as both a privilege and a calling.

What is a typical therapy session with you like?

My goal is for a therapy session with me to feel warm, safe and inviting–like settling into a comfortable space where you can exhale and be yourself. I believe that sense of ease allows for honest reflection, meaningful conversation, and real healing to take place.

What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?

One piece of advice I would give my younger self is to trust the timing of life and have more confidence in my own voice and abilities.  I would remind myself to stay grounded, keep learning, and trust the path unfolding in front of me.

What do you enjoy most about working with your clients?

Getting to know people is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I love building genuine connections and being someone clients can trust, whether they need a listening ear, encouragement, a little humor, or support through a difficult moment.

What in inspires and energizes you in your career?

I am very interested in trauma-informed clinical work.  I am inspired by the resilience and courage of individuals who are navigating crisis and trauma.  Their strength fuels my passion for this field and reminds me why this work matters.

Do you have any pets?

Yes! We have a cat, Chauncey, and a dog, Harper, who keeps life entertaining. Harper loves going on trips with us and is always ready for the next adventure. She’s become a pretty great travel buddy and adds a little extra fun wherever we go.
